Maeve Hastings

Hi! My name is Maeve and I’m a clinical intern finishing my Master’s in Counseling at DePaul University. I’m extremely excited to grow with you!

I like to think life is like the ocean, and we are all fish living in it. The waves can be unpredictable, the currents can pull us in directions we don’t want to go, and it can be difficult to keep swimming forward. My goal in therapy is to help you find an easier way to weather the waves.

In therapy, I take an integrated approach primarily rooted in existential-humanism, which essentially means “what does it mean to be me” and “how do I become the best version of that,” incorporating other philosophies and modalities through that view to best tailor my approach to each individual client. My style involves a lot of reflection, metaphors, and challenging in order to help you find new understanding in your life. If this sounds like what you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to reach out!

For my non-therapist interests, I love perusing new shows, films and novels, and am always ready for a recommendation. I greatly enjoy going to museums and exploring my home city of Chicago like a tourist. My cat, Maslow, acts as my constant companion through this winding stream we call life 𓆝 𓆟 𓆞!
